Cornelius seafood restaurant is a unique and popular dining destination on the north-west side of island Bjorøy, with spectacular views of the fjord and islands close to Bergen.

History
Seafood enthusiasts Alf Roald Sætre and Odd Einar Tufteland established Cornelius in 2004. Cornelius seafood restaurant is a unique and popular dining destination on the north-west side of island Bjorøy, with spectacular views of the fjord and islands close to Bergen.Tufteland is a diploma chef with seafood as his speciality. Sætre, known as ‘Shellfish Man’, and he is third generation in a family of shellfish farrners. He has worked in the seafood business since 1975. Tufteland and Sætre had a vision of offering parties and conferece groups a variety of seafood experiences. Cornelius had 4500 guests in 2007, and bookings this year indicate that this number will already be reached in June 2008.
What we offer

The restaurant enjoys an idyllic location on a quay with several dining areas, a bar, a kitchen and a shellfish tower with living shellfish. In these surroundings, we are able to offer quite unique scenery, alongside food experiences for companies and individual customers who are looking for something exotic, new and different. Our dining rooms can hold up to 160 guests and have modern videoconference equipment, large screens, ‘TV kitchen’, broad-band connection, etc.
On arrival, our guests are welcome on the quay with oysters and drinks. Shellfish Man presents and offers samples from the water tanks: oysters, scallops, mussels, lobster, as well as several types of fish and sea urchins. Guests may dine in one of the three restaurants areas indoors or on the terrace restaurant area. The quay bar is an informal meeting place. The main kitchen is equipped so that guests may participate in seafood courses.
Transportation
Cornelius is situated on a small island, Holmen. Transportation of small or large groups by boat can be arranged. Transportation time from Bergen city is 20 minutes , and from Flesland quay (near the airport) less than 10 minutes. From Alvøen quay or Bratholmen, it takes 5 minutes.
Opening hours

Open all year for pre-booked business or private parties of any size.
Open for a-la-carte dining in July and August.
Special ‘sail-away’ menus to take away are also available.

På kjøttbasaren i Bergen skjer det ting for tiden!
Eiene av Cornelius har kommet inn på eier siden i driftselskapet. Selskapet skal samordne restaurantene i andre etasje og selskapslokalet i tredje etase.
Cornelia sjømatrestaurant har fått fantasiske fine og nyoppussede lokaler der hvor det tidligere var apotek. Frem til våren vil kjøkkensjefen fra Holmen, Joakim frembyde sine kulinariske matopplevelser.

FASTE BÅTAVGANGER
På vinteren har vi ikke faste avganger, men vi arrangerer transport ved bestilling. Avgang fra Zackariassbryggen eller Dreggekaien i Bergen. Ellers henter vi der kunden måtte ønske.
